St Ann’s Church, at the heart of the city, has for over 300 years served as a much-loved place of worship and provided a quiet space for those seeking refuge from the bustle of the city. The parish was established in 1707, as Dublin’s 18th-century suburbs began to envelop the site provided for the church by Sir Joshua Dawson, from whom the street takes its name.

The church retains many original 18th-century features, including its beautiful stained-glass windows, three of which were created by renowned Irish artist Wilhelmina Geddes. The tour will explore the church’s architecture, interior and design, offering an insight into the building’s distinctive features and its evolution over more than three centuries.

The meeting point for the tours is the front entrance to St. Ann’s Church on Dawson Street. These tours are drop-in and places are allocated on a first come basis. Look for Open House volunteers outside the entrance.

The church is wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair ramp and accessible toilet available. Assistance dogs are welcome, and Easy Read information is provided for visitors who may benefit from accessible formats. Leaflets outlining the history of the church are also available in several languages.
