Led by a staff member for Kilmainham Gaol Museum, this walking tour will visit the sites of former 18th and 19th-century prisons in the South Inner City. These include the location of the Four Courts Marshalsea debtors’ prison, the notorious Black Dog Prison and the site where Newgate Gaol, Dublin’s earliest prison, once stood. Please note there is also a separate tour looking at former prisons north of the Liffey.
Meeting Point: Meet at the green at the intersection of Marrowbone Lane and Pimlico (Anne Devlin People’s Park), Dublin 8, D08 PP2W
Please note: There are two separate Lost Prisons of Dublin walking tours:
- South: Saturday 18th October at 10:00AM – Intersection of Marrowbone Lane and Pimlico, Dublin 8
- North: Saturday 18th October at 1:00PM – Courthouse, Halston Street, Dublin 7.
The tours follow different routes and have different meeting points, so please make sure you select the correct tour when booking.
