Swords Castle presents an external walking tour of conservation works designed by Architects Department from Fingal County Council. Completed over the past 6 years, they have been related to consolidation works on the masonry, improved public access and landscape improvements to enhance the setting and provide interpretation of the site.

Swords Carnegie Library is currently undergoing conservation and refurbishment for use as an Arts space within the new Swords Cultural Quarter.

This will be a live construction site requiring limited numbers with appropriate footwear. The walking tour a short distance form the Castle will show the general nature of the works completed to allow a new arts space in Swords.

This is a pre-book event. Bookings open on 14th of September


Accessibility Information

Wall walk and upper levels of building during the tour are not accessible.

Carnegie Library is an active building site- not generally accessible until completion of works.

Appropriate footwear required.
