One of the most stylish venues in the city, beautifully restored to its original architectural splendour, Dublin City Hall is a truly historic setting which has witnessed many events related to the city and state. Situated in the heart of the city, it is a magnificent example of the Georgian architecture for which Dublin is world renowned. The spectacular entrance hall or Rotunda with its spacious embellished gold leaf dome and marble floor welcomes visitors daily from all over the world and is home to various events, filming and marriage ceremonies. The sheer size and sumptuous fittings of the Rotunda reflect the standing and prestige of Dublin in the late 18th century, providing an exclusive and discreet location in the heart of a vibrant city.

There are two entrances to the building: the main front entrance on Dame Street and the side entrance at Barnardo’s Square. Please note that there are steps at both the front and side entrances. The side entrance, located at lower ground floor level beside Barnardo’s Square, has lift access to the Rotunda and is the accessible entrance for visitors who require step-free access.
The footpath may occasionally be closed due to EU Presidency events taking place next door at Dublin Castle, and An Garda Síochána (Gardaí) may cordon off the area at times. If you experience any difficulty accessing the building via the front entrance, please use the lower ground floor entrance beside Barnardo’s Square.
