The tour will begin at the exterior of the building to view the two symmetrical wings occupied by Kings Inn and Registry of Deeds, the cupola, external friezes and sculptures designed by James Gandon.

The tour will continue in the Registry of Deeds building, its interior adapted by Francis Johnston, moving to the main vault, normally closed to the public, that holds Memorials dating from 1708 and part of the Valuation archive. The tour will then proceed up the cantilever stairs to the Public Room, with its beautiful pitch pine shelves (designed c.1829) and original parquet floors.

The tour will finish on the second floor in the Genealogical Room, which have lovely views of Dublin city. As well as focusing on the architectural features of the building, the tour will also explain the purpose of Tailte Éireann Archives and the historical value of the property and valuation records and maps that we hold.
