The Gatehouse is a modern home that reflects the character of its surrounding conservation area. The key challenge was achieving the right proportions while giving a minimalist references to late Georgian elements, such as tall, deep-set windows and plaster quoins. The contemporary design extends to the interior, where dark wooden floors are paired with contemporary ornamentation.

The route will be mostly internal with some external elements. The ground floor is wheelchair accessible. The tour will include limited parts of the first and second floor of the house which are reached by stairs.
