The tour will take place in the GPO Museum, taking guests to see the Public Letters Office (PLO) before descending into the basement into the main exhibition space. The PLO is a unique example of Art Deco mixed with the Neo-Classical style of the original building. The exhibition space features artifacts from the GPO and the Revolutionary period more broadly. In the museum there are images of the GPO before the 1916 Easter Rising and subsequent fire, giving guests a glimpse into the old post office.

The tour will end on the first floor, where guests will see the raised courtyard and will be able to reflect of the history of this iconic building.

Entry into GPO Museum is on flat ground. Tour will descend into basement, lifts are provided on both sides of the museum. Space is tight but manageable. Seating provided throughout museum, guests will have headsets through which they can hear the guide. Screens are low to provide visibility on each case. Doors to courtyard are opened via buttons for accessibility.

Car Park: Arnotts car park on Prince’s street is closest to Museum. Approx. 5 minutes walk.
