Join DCC Architects on a tour of new housing project Cornamona Court in Ballyfermot.

Located on Kylemore Road, Ballyfermot, PKA’s scheme replaces a low-rise scheme that previously stood on the site, with 61 units, comprising a mixture of houses, duplexes and apartments, including provisions for rehousing older council tenants from large family houses into purpose-built apartments within their own neighbourhood.

Designed to achieve an A building energy rating, and compliance with NZEB regulations, the project utilises strategies such self-condensing boilers, photovoltaic panels, heat recovery systems, and a highly-insulated fabric.

Developing the language developed by PKA in our north-east inner city projects, the sober and well-proportioned brick architecture of the scheme aims to provide a tenure-neutral aesthetic that will provide residents with a sense of pride in where they live – now and into the future.
