Tour Information +
The Irish Traditional Music Archive is home to the largest collection of materials related to Irish traditional music, song and dance in the world. Located in 73 Merrion Square, ITMA sits in the heart of Georgian Dublin, in a building that is over 230 years old.
During this interactive tour, you’ll learn about some of the historic Georgian architecture features in the building. You’ll also learn about traditional Irish music, song and dance with some live traditional music performances.
The building is 4 storeys high with a basement and a mews space at the rear, steeped in history. ITMA is working to restore the former mews stable house at the rear of the Archive on Merrion Square to establish an artist/archivist-in-residence site, where musicians and archivists can stay while they work on projects.
