Join us for a fun and interactive art / architecture workshop about public space in Dublin city!
In this family workshop you’ll have the opportunity to:
– Engage in family learning – parents / guardians and children can enjoy creative time together!
– Explore ideas about the places we share in our city … playgrounds, streetscapes and parks.

Through a process of collaborative drawing and map-making you’ll explore the potential of Dublin’s public spaces, including playgrounds and parks – how can we create a better and more playful city with inclusive and welcoming spaces for all?
This workshop event is run by the Irish Architecture Foundation. It will be facilitated by Syrian architect Muhammad Achour. He is the director and founder of Places of ARcture which aims to engage local communities with art and architecture. Inspired by community engagement processes and the quest for creating better cities, he curates and delivers creative workshops to families and communities in Dublin and London. He is also a workshop facilitator on the Irish Architecture Foundation’s national Architects in Schools programme.

Age group: Ideal for families with children aged 6-12. Parents / guardians must attend the workshop with their children.

Accessibility Information

This workshop take place at the Open House Info Hub at Charlemont Walk, Dublin 2. This is a temporary use space and does not have direct access to toilet and washroom facilities inside the space. Participants and visitors have full use of toilets, including an accessible toilet, located in a separate adjoining building approximately 100 metres away in distance. The space and doorways open wide and the venue does not have any steps or stairs.
