Tour Information +
The Iveagh Gardens (Protected Structure Ref No 7791) are located in Dublin City centre, south of St. Stephen’s Green, north of Hatch Street and are surrounded by buildings to the east, west and north sides. The current garden design by Ninian Nevin dates to 1865. Many of the original landscape features are still in place, or have been restored and conserved since 1995. These include the yew maze, the rosarium, and the fountains. Throughout its 300 year history, the gardens served as the Earl of Clonmell’s Lawn, public gardens known as The Coburg Gardens, the gardens of Iveagh House and part of the site of the Dublin Exhibition Palace in 1865. The Iveagh Gardens were transferred into state care in 1991 and today serve as a public park that occasionally hosts events such as concerts and exhibitions.
