OHD Saturday Route Plan: D2 + DLR
OHD route plans are suggested routes for you to take on Open House weekend to experience the city’s architecture. Although most events on these routes are drop-in and do not require booking we advise you to arrive early and to please be aware that some tours may fill up quickly.
Interested in Housing? Start off your Open House Saturday with a visit to architects Henry J Lyon’s purpose built studio at 51-54 Pearse Street, D2. to see the exhibition Housing by Henry J Lyons.Here you will learn about a selection of Housing Projects, explore a virtual map and be able to do a self guided walk in your own time. The studios are open to everyone to drop in on Saturday and the architects look forward to welcoming you!

Drop in to the Housing Unlocked exhibition in the Science Gallery for a specially guided tour of this exciting and innovative project showcasing 8 ideas to unlock housing potential in our villages, towns and cities! Tours will operate all through the day and our Open House volunteers will be there to greet you.
Location: The Science Gallery, Naughton Institute, Trinity College, Dublin 2

Next on the list, head over to the Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of Dublin where you can join guided tours starting at 11am. It’s a unique building with a particular architectural style and has played a significant role in the civic history of Dublin.

If you fancy getting out of the city centre after all that you can head out to Dún Laoghaire to meet some homeowners who are transforming vacant properties into homes. This is a tour of four shop conversions, all different and all with their own stories.
Places on these tours should be booked in advance due to limited numbers but we do have places left so get booking! Book a tour now
