THE LAST TWO TOURS (3pm & 4pm) HAVE BEEN CANCELLED

The Loom, run by Aparto, is located on the corner of Cork Street and Brickfield Lane, Dublin 8. The development provides a fully-managed 166-bed student residence with an active ground floor and a defined urban frontage to Cork Street and Brickfield Lane.

The tour will take you to see the L-shaped building, as it hugs the northwest corner of the site, creating an urban edge to the streets and enclosing a sheltered, sunny amenity space. The building’s massing mediates between the existing residential blocks to the south and east and the new seven-story student housing complex to the west on Cork St. The stepped terraces created by these set-backs provide visual amenities for neighbours at high level and are oriented for maximum sunlight exposure.

You will observe the active street front along the Cork St façade, including the student concierge and breakout spaces, which interact with and enliven the streetscape. Students enter the sunny central courtyard through an undercroft connecting the common room and reception. Raising this space allows for plant rooms and bike storage below while increasing the courtyard’s sunlight access.

Each tour will last approximately 45 minutes.

Meeting point: The Main Entrance to the Loom on Cork Street.

This tour is pre-book only, booking opens 14 September.
