This building was the Palace of the Archbishops of Dublin from the late 1100s until the 1820s. The tour will assemble on St Patrick’s Close (opposite the entrance to Marsh’s Library) and make its way onto Kevin Street and into the grounds of the complex through the main gate, which is not ordinarily open to the public.

The tour will begin with an introduction to the history of the site in the main yard. It will then proceed around the perimeter of the building, examining some of the important architectural features that are still visible outside, before making its way inside to see some of the few surviving features of the interior of the Palace.

This building is owned by the State through the Office of Public Works (OPW).

Meet opposite the entrance to Marsh’s Library on St Patrick’s Close, Dublin 8, D08 FK79
