Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre is located at 105 Capel Street, a historically significant Georgian residence, dating from 1770. Outhouse is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the people, spaces, and issues important to the LGBTQ+ communities. Our vision is a future where LGBTQ+ individuals are safe, seen, and celebrated.
Join us for guided tours of this remarkable building on Saturday, 19th October, led by Outhouse Deputy CEO, Seán Delaney (he/them) and architect, George Boyle (she/her). Tour times are from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Architectural Highlights
105 Capel Street is a large three-bay, four-storey-over-raised-basement townhouse of national architectural significance (NIAH). Visitors can explore its many surviving features, including enriched hand-modelled Rococo stucco work, cornices, and ceiling roses, original room layouts, 18th-century windows, and an original open staircase with carved tread ends and internal joinery of fine architectural quality.
