Lucan Leisure Campus demonstrates the commitment by South Dublin County Council the to provision of high‑quality, accessible sport and community facilities. The campus combines the delivery of the new, purpose‑built Lucan Swimming Pool with the refurbishment of the existing Lucan Leisure Centre. Following the concept of a walled garden; a solid brick wall wraps around the swimming pool building, opening up in certain areas to create places of arrival and protected external spaces.

The exercise phase of the pool building includes a fully equipped gym, exercise studios and associated changing areas. The swimming pool phase provides a 25 metre pool, and a separate multi-use pool with movable floor. A sauna and steam room well-being suite is accessed from the pool hall. A defining feature of Lucan Leisure Campus is its integrated approach in bringing together health, fitness, sport, childcare and social spaces within a landscaped campus connected to Griffeen Valley Park. This reinforces the campus’s new role as a centre of leisure activity for Lucan and the wider county.

The tour will begin at Lucan Leisure Centre Campus outside the entrance to the new swimming pool building, and will give visitors the opportunity to see some of the impressive ‘behind the scenes’ plant and equipment elements which would not normally be visible to the public.
