Tour Information +
Graphic Studio Dublin, based in Distillery Court on North Circular Road, sits at the heart of Dublin’s cultural quarter and is home to nearly 100 professional printmaking artists. The studio presents a rare opportunity to explore the intersection of architectural heritage and contemporary creative practice. Located in a former distillery built around 1840-50, the building retains its industrial character while functioning as a dynamic, fully equipped printmaking workshop- capturing the essence of Dublin’s layered history and its thriving artistic scene. For Open House Dublin 2025, we will offer an introduction to Printmaking and a viewing of a specially curated exhibition of works for the event in the Print Room, a Tour of the studio and finishing with a printing demonstration by a member printmaker on the top floor.
This will treat visitors with a behind-the-scenes glimpse into traditional and contemporary print techniques still actively used today, in a space not usually accessible to the public. As Ireland’s longest-established fine art print studio, this event will appeal to adults and older children with interests in art, design, and architecture, and strongly aligns with Open House’s mission to deepen public engagement with Dublin’s built and cultural environment.
At Graphic Studio Dublin, Future Heritage is about upholding a long tradition of excellence in printmaking while fostering innovation, learning, and collaboration. It encompasses not only the conservation of historic buildings and traditional crafts, but also the ongoing development of contemporary artistic practices and the communities that support them. We are committed to safeguarding both the physical legacy of our building and equipment, and the intangible heritage of artistic skill, knowledge, and expression. Through continuous support of artists, public engagement, and thoughtful adaptation, we aim to ensure that our creative legacy remains vibrant and relevant for generations to come.
