Over the centuries, the impulse to travel, explore and work abroad has led to Ireland’s patrons, architects and builders being inspired by their continental European counterparts. They have also brought the best of them to Ireland. This has left the country with a rich landscape of old and new buildings that is anything but insular.
This selection of photographs by Séamus Moran, presents buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries in the classical Greek and Roman fashion, those with Modernist influences of the 20th, and some that illustrate the 21st century’s mix of movements, styles, and approaches. Latterly, Irish architects are to be seen on the world stage, garnering international acclaim and prizes such as the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award. the Pritzker and more.
Exhibition runs from 15/10 – 10/11/2025
