Tour Information +
A walk hosted by D8 Green Bridge Forum exploring some notable architecture and green spaces in the Liberties.
Beginning at the entrance to Tivoli Square on Francis Street we will discuss the redevelopment of the site. We’ll then look at recent public realm improvements on the street itself and hear about the ongoing saga of the nearby Iveagh Markets.
Next we’ll head towards a secluded churchyard and on to a new award winning public park described by one of the judges as ‘a beautiful mess’. On our way we’ll see a space offering rare recreational opportunities for young people that the local community fear may soon be lost.
We will end our walk on the site of what was once the worlds largest whiskey distillery, where we’ll admire a pear tree that’s more than 160 years old and still fruiting.
Pre-book only
