Join us for our special Open House tours which will focus on the architectural history of Rathfarnham Castle. The building is thought to be one of the first of its kind in Ireland and the designer drew heavily on continental, Renaissance-period thinking about design and building form. Much later a series of fine, eighteenth-century interiors designed by Sir William Chambers and James ‘Athenian’ Stuart were inserted into the building.

This building is owned by the State through the Office of Public Works (OPW).
