We are offering free self-guided access for families to enjoy the magnificent Tara’s Palace, one of the greatest Doll’s Houses in the world!
Tara’s Palace pays homage to some of the most famous Georgian houses in Ireland, including Carton, Castletown and Leinster House. It took master craftsmen over 20 years to build and furnish the Palace, which features famous interiors recreated at one twelfth of their original size. Look, for example, at the keys in each of the tiny locks – they actually work! Marvel at the reception rooms, the kitchen with its tray set for afternoon tea, the toys in the nursery – and the music room with its tiny gold violin. You may even spot Tara herself, a fairy, who’s shadow dances through the exquisite rooms! In addition to the Palace, your ticket includes access to all self guided exhibits at the Little Museum, including The Animals of Dublin, The Irish Times Room & “Together/Apart”, an exhibition about The Irish Anti-Apartheid movement. You can even dial back time and make a free phone call from one of the oldest working phone kiosks in the country. The museum is housed in a beautiful Georgian townhouse and is home to a unique collection created by public donation. There is so much for guests of all ages to enjoy.
A family ticket includes self-guided entry for two adults and up to three children. Special Thanks to Tara’s Palace Trust.
Entry is through the basement reception area – The Little Museum of Dublin, 15 St Stephen’s Green, Dublin, D02 Y066
