The Mansion House is the official residence of the Lord Mayor of Dublin during their term of office. The house was purchased for use as a Mayoralty House by Dublin Corporation from Joshua Dawson in 1715 and is the earliest continuously occupied townhouse in Dublin. It is a unique building because of its great age, its particular architectural style , and for the continuous role the house has played in the civic history of Dublin. These guided tours of the Lord Mayor’s official residence will include the Oak Room, Drawing Room, Dining Room, and Lady Mayoress Parlour. Tours are given by former Lord Mayors and Dublin City Council staff.
Tours are Drop-in and on a first come basis. The meeting point for these tours is the Front Entrance of the Mansion House.
Accessibility Information
A platform lift is available for access to the building. From there the tours takes place on the ground floor only. The tour will follow a one-way path through the building. There are accessible toilets available.
