The Poolbeg Lighthouse Tour offers a rare opportunity to explore the interior of one of Dublin’s most iconic maritime landmarks. Meeting at the base of the lighthouse, you’ll be guided through its fascinating history and learn about its vital role in guiding ships safely into Dublin Bay over the centuries.
Led by Lar Joye, Port Heritage Director, this tour will take you inside the lighthouse, offering a unique perspective on both its architectural design and its significance in Dublin’s maritime heritage. From the top, you’ll enjoy unparalleled views of Dublin Bay.

Visitors are encouraged to dress appropriately for the coastal weather. We will provide hard hats and high-vis. Be prepared for uneven surfaces and ensure you bring sturdy footwear for the walk along the Great South Wall.
Please note that the climb to the top of the lighthouse involves several flights of stairs and the staircase is narrow and steep.
