Tour Information +
Join our guides to find out how the great glasshouses of the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, were designed and constructed in the nineteenth century. For over one hundred years, these plant palaces housed precious collections from around the globe.
By the late twentieth century, these Victorian glasshouses had fallen into considerable disrepair. An Office of Public Works team headed by Ciarán O’Connor employed cutting edge restorative work and architectural innovation to restore them to their former glory.
