Open House Dublin
Welcome to Open House Dublin. This year’s festival programme kicks off with the Open House Junior (OHJ) weekend, running from Saturday 12 October – Sunday 13 October. OHJ is an exciting programme of tours and activities designed specifically for families and young people.
Throughout the week Open House Dublin (OHD) will be running a variety of events, talks, studio visits and workshops.
The week will culminate in the Open House Weekend, a full programme of over 150 events (including building tours, film screenings, visits to private homes, walking tours, and exhibitions, to name but a few) across the city from Friday 18 October – Sunday 20 October.
Why Volunteer?
Without the participation of our incredible volunteers, Open House would simply not be possible. Whether you are willing and available to volunteer for just a couple of hours or multiple days, we would greatly appreciate your time, skills, and knowledge (and don’t forget that volunteering with OHD also qualifies for Continuing Professional Development points for architects).
We want to ensure that Open House Dublin 2024 is accessible to as many volunteers as possible, so if you have any queries or concerns about your own or others’ accessibility needs, please let us know.
As an OHD Volunteer, you will have access to the following benefits:
- In-person or online training
- Opportunities to attend tours over Open House weekend (volunteers will be given a VIP pass and priority access to tours and events)
- Training sessions in collaboration with the National Gallery of Ireland (with an additional session specifically for Volunteer Tour Guides)
- References and CPD points
- Volunteer Party on the last evening of Open House Dublin
- Opportunity to develop self and group management, communication, and teamwork skills
- Meeting new people and networking
- Learning about art & architecture
- Eligibility to participate in Open House Europe’s 2025 volunteer exchange programme to partner cities across Europe
We will also be hosting a special introductory event for volunteers in September where you will be presented with this year’s programme, introduce yourself to fellow volunteers, and ask any questions you may have. More details on this to follow!
Signing Up
To manage our events and volunteers, we use a software called Better Impact. In order to become one of our volunteers, you will need to make an account and then fill out the volunteer application form. You can sign up on desktop or sign up on a mobile device.
