Open House Dublin is a wonderful opportunity for people to hear the stories behind, and to go inside and explore the buildings, public spaces and civic amenities in South Dublin. This is the first year that South Dublin County Council is taking part in Open House, and this tour of the main elements of the evolving Civic Core gives an exciting insight into the continuing development of the central area, including The Civic Theatre, County Hall, The Innovation Quarter and more.

– Start at Rua Red at the Luas stop.

– Brief intro and move onto the County library and the square as it is at this time.

– Go to the Civic Theatre and view the main space and the surrounding back areas.

– Go to the Civic Chamber, and a brief slide show will commence and discuss the history of Tallaght’s town centre and a preview of the rest of the tour.

– Go to the Innovation Centre and have a brief chat about what the Innovation Centre’s purpose is to SDCC.

– Go to the energy centre and enter the building to let the public view the equipment and discuss the innovation and carbon savings.

– Walk to Tallaght Stadium to view the building and discuss overall sports and active living strategies.

– Return to Rua Red and the luas for the tour’s final destination.
