SLEEPERTOWN – a mobile sound art programme in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

SLEEPERTOWN, a mobile sound art programme in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown co-curated by Richard Carr and Anthony Kelly, transforms everyday streets, parks, coastal landscapes and the built environment into a gallery of sound. Running to the end of November, the programme presents 13 site-responsive sonic experiences by artists, performers, activists, poets, composers and musicians.

Participating artists include Carmen Torrano Mellado, John Powell & Michael Petry, Richard Carr, Younes Baba-Ali, Gabi Schaffner, Joseph Young, Dani Gill, Łukasz Jastrubczak, Janine Eisenächer, Niamh McNally, Maria McManus and Anthony Kelly. The 13th work, created by students of IADT’s ReSound Masters programme, will launch later in October as part of CILECT Congress 2026.

Using the free Echoes app, audiences are invited to explore the borough at their own pace, discovering each work as they move through their own community in a self-directed way and encounter the places, spaces and structures around them in new ways.
