Join Silent Book Club Dublin for a special Open House Dublin edition at IAF House, a temporary festival space on Capel Street, Dublin 1.

This evening invites us to experience IAF House in a different way, to slow down, settle in and discover how a place can be transformed simply by how we use it. Silent Book Club is a little different to a traditional book club, but the concept is straightforward: bring whatever book you’re reading, find a comfortable spot and enjoy an evening of reading in companionable silence. There’s no homework, no reading list and no pressure to discuss your book. We’ll have chairs, tables and beanbags available, but feel free to bring a cushion or anything else that will make you more comfortable.

Silent Book Club Dublin was established in 2023 by friends Maeve and Zoë. Discouraged by the dwindling number of independent cafés and third spaces in the city, they founded a Dublin chapter of Silent Book Club, which is currently based in Flower&bean café on Cork Street. They aim to host monthly-ish events that welcome an inclusive community of readers.

Flower&bean will be serving a selection of drinks and home baked treats to enjoy while you read.

Please note that IAF House does not have toilet facilities onsite. Readers will have access to some facilities nearby but unfortunately these facilities are not accessible and require use of stairs.
