Geology as design inspiration - limestone and granite paving Historic image of Williamstown Tower and original sea level

Join a geologist and the dlr Heritage Officer to explore Blackrock Park from the ground up. Starting at the Booterstown end of the park adjacent to Booterstown Dart station we will explore the rock that gave Blackrock its name and see its influence on architectural features and the contemporary built landscape.

Walking on towards the Williamstown Martello Tower and historic seawalls, the tour will expand on the connections between bedrock, architecture, landscape and sea level along this stretch of the coastline.

The tour will end at the Blackrock Dart station.
