Historic “Glanmire” has for over a decade been the Official Residence of the Ambassador of Canada to Ireland. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about this 19th-century home’s history, significant residents, and unique connection to Padraig Pearse, while appreciating the architectural features of its representational areas and the Canadian artwork on display. Tours will take in the dining room, two formal salons and the study, as well as the front and rear gardens including the latter’s recently-restored Victorian greenhouse. Embassy staff will discuss how the Official Residence contributes to the mission’s diplomatic work as a venue for the Ambassador to receive and connect with leaders from all fields of Irish society, including governance, culture, business and civil society.

At the Embassy’s discretion, visitors may be asked to undergo a bag check and present identification, and may be asked to wear provided disposable shoe covers depending on the weather.
