Join Architect Jacinta Delaney Curley to explore Stoneybatter, the oldest urban village in Ireland – the Stoney Road, or Bóthar na gCloch, was the ancient road from Glendalough in Co. Wicklow to Tara in Co. Meath, seat of the High King of Ireland. Starting at the National Museum of Ireland – Collins Barracks, built in the early 18th century, and continuing with a guided walk around Ireland’s oldest urban village, this walking tour for families is full of hidden urban gems.

IAF’s Architreks are specially designed architecture activity sheets for families, full of observation games, sketching and quizzes that guide you along selected routes. Each participant will receive a printed Architrek booklet to sketch on!

Meet at: Main Reception (outside), Inner Courtyard, National Museum, Collins Barracks, Benburb St, Stoneybatter, Dublin, D07 XKV4, Ireland

Suitable for all ages, but ideal for families with children aged 7-12.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please book a ticket for everyone attending.

As this is an outdoor event please come prepared with suitable footwear and clothing.


Accessibility Information

The tour will follow pathways throughout, and cross roads using pedestrian crossings where possible. There may be some steps in parts. Parents / guardians must accompany their child(ren) at all times and supervise them while on this tour.
