An outdoor tour through the three cemeteries located in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. Chronicling nearly 1,300 years of history and burial on the site from monastic settlement to retirement home for Irish veterans of the British army. Following in the footsteps of ordinary men and women, grave-robbers, soldiers and officers, the tour will explore the story of the site and its inhabitants through life, death and burial.

Meeting point: Outside Bully’s Acre Cemetery. Please arrive 5 minutes before the tour begins.

This tour is pre-book only.


Accessibility Information
The ground is grassy and uneven so those with mobility issues may not find it fully accessible. The tour is given in English by a member of the Office of Public Works staff.
