The tour will take visitors through the over two hundred year history of Dublin’s General Post Office, as well as discussing the future plans for the building’s redevelopment. Beginning in the Public Letters Office (PLO), the tour will take place mostly within the space occupied by the GPO Museum which sits on the ground and basement levels of the right hand side of the building.
The tour itself will look at the building’s construction, its numerous renovations, its role in the 1916 Easter Rising, its reconstruction, its use in modern Dublin, and the recently announced plans for its redevelopment.
