Tour Information +
Starting outside the historic Marshes’ Library, this guided walk for families passes through the medieval Liberties, Cork Street, and Dublin 8, focusing on architectural observation and revealing fascinating details. Highlights of the route include Cork Street, Newmarket and Weaver Square, and examples of Dublin’s housing, from red-brick artisan cottages and 20th-century flats, to recent social housing.
IAF’s Architreks are specially designed architecture activity sheets for children – the Dublin 8 activity sheet encourages participants to look for date plaques, observe how old and new architecture meet, find evidence of past uses of buildings, and engage in drawing and sketching exercises. Each participant will receive their own Architrek booklet to sketch on!
Suitable for all ages, but ideal for families with children aged 7-12.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please book a ticket for everyone attending.
As this is an outdoor event please come prepared with suitable footwear and clothing.
Accessibility Information
