Tour Information +
As Ireland’s campus for the Creative Industries, the Institute of Art, Design + Technology (IADT) invites the public to explore its new flagship Digital Media Building, prominently located at the entrance of the vibrant and growing campus. Accommodating up to 920 students across disciplines including design, animation, visual effects, enterprise and technology, the building is designed to inspire innovation, foster community, and support the next generation of digital thinkers, makers and storytellers.
The design focuses on creativity, flexibility, connection and possibility, bringing together a range of specialist facilities to support collaborative and future-focused learning. At the heart of the building is a lively restaurant, serving as a social anchor, with feature social stairs linking dynamic spaces that encourage project-based, applied learning.
The tour, led by designer Elliott Ballam, Architect Associate Director at BDP, begins at the main entrance to view the façade and landscaping, moves through the restaurant, social stairs and specialist labs, and concludes on the third floor in the Collaborative Study Area, withpanoramic views over Dún Laoghaire, Dublin Bay and the Dublin Mountains.
Pre-book only
Accessibility Information
The tour will start outside the main entrance of the Digital Media Building and the route will go around the perimeter of the building utilising the ramped access routes available. Once back at the main entrance, we will work our way up through the 4 levels of the building (GF, 1F, 2F & 3F) utilising the accommodation stairs provided. There is lift access provided to all levels for people with movement impairments. There is plenty of soft and hard seating throughout the building at all floors for those who may need to take a rest. The building will be a live environment with some IADT students and staff, so there will be a level of noise as part of the event.
