The Casino is an impressive building with a rich history. Designed by Sir William Chambers in the late 18th century, it was intended as a garden temple for James Caulfeild, the 1st Earl of Charlemont, near his residence, Marino House, which was located in the countryside at the time. Recognised as a key example of neoclassical architecture in Ireland, the Casino stands out for its unique design and historical significance. Its elegant features and thoughtful construction reflect the artistic values of its era.

We invite you to join our knowledgeable guides for a tour of the Casino, where you can explore the incredible architecture of this hidden gem. Discover the stories and details that make this building a true treasure in Ireland’s architectural landscape.

This building is owned by the State through the Office of Public Works (OPW).
