Kilmainham Mill dates from 1800 and fell into dereliction after its closure in 2000. Dublin City Council purchased the Mill and has completed a programme of stabilisation works and essential repairs which included repairs to the roofs, removal of asbestos and propping of floor. Dublin City Council Culture Company is working on activating the Mill for meanwhile uses. During this tour, the Culture Company will provide limited access to a small area of the interior and to the courtyard.

Meeting point: Kilmainham Ln, Kilmainham, Dublin 8, D08 N9X7

Pre-Book Only

Accessibility Information

Due to the fact that the Mill is undeveloped, the tour is not fully accessible and the group will be limited in number. There is very limited access to the interior (no access for people using wheelchairs or with additional mobility requirements at present). The tour will include access to two floors of the complex, which is not ramped and which has limited headroom. The tour will also include a visit to the courtyard of the complex, which is outdoor and uncovered. There are no toilets or washing facilities on site. Access to Kilmainham Mill is via Rowserstown Lane, which has a steep incline and uneven surfaces. Please dress appropriately for a colder interior and note that dust allergies or other respiratory conditions may be triggered.
