Future Heritage – the new season of Open House Europe

For the 2025 season, Open House Europe—a collaboration project among Open House festival organisers in 16 cities—invites people to explore European architecture through the shared theme of Future Heritage. All year round and across the continent, Open House events will offer a unique opportunity to experience living stories rooted in architectural heritage.

Open House Europe is a cooperation project that connects different Open House festival organisers across Europe and enables their collaboration and knowledge exchange. By encouraging and promoting an interest in architecture among various audiences, Open House Europe helps residents gain new perspectives on their local surroundings and invites them to envision the shared future of European architecture.

The Irish Architecture Foundation is proud to be part Open House Europe and to embrace the themes, challenges and opportunities of a shared Future Heritage. You can learn more about the Open House Europe project and our international partners by visiting the Open House Europe website.

The IAF hosted the second Open House Europe Annual Summit in Dublin Castle in January 2025. The Summit gathered 900 people, including delegates from 24 Open House festival cities, for a unique opportunity to explore and discuss how accessibility and inclusion can reshape cities into places that are open, vibrant and welcoming for all. The Summit’s title, The City Invites, captured its essence — a call to action and a challenge to imagine cities as places that embrace diversity, celebrate inclusion, and thrive on collective creativity. The next Summit will take place in Athens in January 2025.
