To manage our events and volunteers, we use a software called Better Impact. To become an OHD volunteer, you will need to create an account and complete a registration form.

VOLUNTEER APPLICATIONS FOR 2025 ARE NOW CLOSED

As a festival volunteer, you will have:

• Priority entry to Open House Dublin sites*
• Accessibility and awareness training delivered in collaboration with the National Gallery of Ireland
• Specialised tour guide training if you are chosen to lead tours
• References
• CPD points for architects
• The opportunity to develop teamwork, communication, and leadership skills
• A chance to meet like-minded people and network while exploring Dublin
• A dedicated volunteer party on Sunday, 19th October, in IAF House Charlemont
• Eligibility to apply to Open House Europe’s Volunteer Exchange programme in partner cities across Europe

*We ask that contributors, where possible, give festival volunteers priority entry to buildings and tours; in some cases, where space is very limited or health and safety is a concern, this is not always possible. The decision is always at the discretion of the tour leader or building manager.

• Friday 26th September: volunteer shifts available for selection on Better Impact
• Friday 3rd October: volunteer training will take place at the National Gallery of Ireland, 9:30AM – 11:30AM
• Monday, 6th October: volunteer packs will be available for collection from IAF House in Charlemont Square, D02 K2P6
• Saturday 11th October: Open House Junior begins
• Friday 17th October: the main Open House Dublin weekend begins
• Sunday 19th October: end of festival volunteer party at IAF House
