Visit both bridges with architect Sean Harrington.
The Millennium Bridge commission was the outcome of an international competition organised by Dublin Corporation, which attracted 157 entries from around the world. This new pedestrian crossing was designed to be lightweight, transparent, structurally daring and to sit comfortably into a prominent urban setting of considerable historical significance next to the Hapenny Bridge.
The Rosie Hackett Bridge was commissioned by Dublin City Council. The bridge caters for buses, taxis, pedestrians, cyclists and the southbound track of the Luas BXD connection, and links Marlborough Street and Eden Quay on the north side to Hawkins Street and Burgh Quay on the south side.
