Restoration of historic glasshouses in gardens of Ardgillan Castle- Commence tour in Rose Garden adjacent to main glasshouse.

Propagation and Vinery glasshouses were originally constructed circa 1905 at Seamount House Malahide, home of the Jameson family. The two glasshouses were designed by the prominent Victorian Scottish glasshouse manufacturer MacKenzie and Moncur Ltd. They were  gifted to Ardgillan in the 1990’s and after falling into disrepair  were restored in 2022 coinciding with the 40th anniversary of ownership of Ardgillan by the local authority. The conservation design team was led by de Blacam & Meagher Architects.
