The tour will begin at exterior of the building to view the two symmetrical wings occupied by Kings Inn and Registry of Deeds , the cupola, and external friezes and sculptures.
It will move to the Registry of Deeds main vault , normally closed to the public, which holds Memorials dating from 1708. The tour will then proceed up the cantilever stairs to the Public Room, with it’s beautiful pitch pine shelves (designed c.1829) and original parquet floors. It will finish on second floor in the Genealogical Room, and Mezzanine Room, which have lovely views of Dublin city. As well as focusing on the architectural features of the building, the tour will also explain the purpose of Registry of Deeds and historical value of the property records we hold.
Accessibility Information
All of the rooms on the tour are wheelchair accessible with the exception of the Main Vault. The intended tour route includes climbing two flights of stairs, however participants can also choose to use lift.
