Curvilinear Range – Richard Turner and Henry Darley Great Palm House Boyds and Co. (Paisley in Scotland)

Join us for this unique tour at the Botanic Gardens as part of Open House Dublin. Starting outdoors the tour will give a background to the history of glasshouses at the gardens from the earliest through to the two main buildings we will look at on the tour.

We will begin with the Curvilinear Range (1843-1869) and assess its construction design and restoration, before continuing indoors to look at highlights of the plant
collections. We will then move onto the Great Palm House where again we will look at design construction and restoration work done on the building before moving inside to look at the plant collections housed inside. The tour will end with an exclusive tree top canopy walk on the gantry of the Palm House (c.1884).The tour will be indoor and outdoor in the gardens and glasshouses onsite.
