This office proposal provides five levels of contemporary open-plan office space to cater for the changing needs of a modern workforce, with car-parking provided at basement level. During an initial demolition strip-out in 2016, authentic medieval fabric of a Dutch Billy house and tavern – oak beams and brick vaults, were uncovered. This discovery lead to a reconsideration of the design approach, leading to a preservation in-situ of the pre-1700 material on site, all contained within a revised design. Extensive conservation and archeological research included 3D point cloud digital survey, dendrochronological testing by Dr. David Brown in Queen’s University and historic lime mortar analysis by Dr. Jason Bolton
