9/9A Aungier Street was built ca. 1664 as one of first houses in the Aungier Estate, and contains a nearly complete internal timber frame structure, stairs, fireplaces and plaster finishes from the original construction. It is considered to be one of the most intact domestic structures in Dublin from the middle decades of the Seventeenth Century, and illustrates several aspects of domestic design and construction technology from a period of Dublin’s history from which very little has survived.
