David Gunning is currently dlr’s Historian-in-Residence and will share new insights on Marlay Demesne from dlr’s Decade of Centenaries project. This walking tour begins at the front of Marlay House and will loop around the historic parkland surrounding the eighteenth century mansion. Learn about the different families who lived at Marlay and how they utilised and shaped the landscape to meet their needs. The walk will take in many of the heritage features of Marlay Park including the walled gardens, cottage orné, gate lodges and other parkland features.
