The mirrored internal courtyard situated amongst mature trees. A simple pitched gable elevation offering views to the warm interior. In the interior, a restrained material palette is given life and warmth by the movement of sunlight across the white pitched ceilings above.

The Le Chéile Education Centre is a new home for the Le Chéile Schools Trust. The building takes its lead from this material context and from the Trust’s desire for it to feel like a ‘home’ for the wider Trust community. The plan is simple – with offices along one side, a large meeting room and kitchen along the other, and a central top-lit corridor between. The form is a simple double-pitched volume, set between two gardens. The office spaces overlook the first garden – a raised bed of wildflower, which foregrounds an expansive view over the school grounds. The large meeting room (which doubles as a reflective gathering space for the Trust community) addresses the second garden – an introverted courtyard, backgrounded by the mature trees outside.
