The new development at Fitzgerald Park is the last phase in the comprehensive redevelopment of Mountwood / Fitzgerald Park which started twenty years ago. The redevelopment has seen the demolition of flat blocks and their replacement with houses. This phase contains a mixture of house types and provides a total of 50 dwellings on a 1ha site. Individual dwellings are linked together to form terraces that define and provide passive surveillance of the public realm which incorporates a new green / park. All houses enjoy own door access from a small railed front garden and have their own private garden to the rear. All homes have been designed to a high environmental standard and provide, bright, spacious, comfortable accommodation with low running costs. The project was designed by The Council’s Architects Department and constructed by GEDA.
People like you make Open House Dublin possible!
Open House Dublin is presented by the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF): a non-profit arts organisation dedicated to the promotion of architecture as culture. Open House Dublin is just one part of a dynamic programme of activity through which we encourage people to engage with their built environment, to encourage new ways of thinking about architecture.
But we can’t do this alone – our supporters make a huge difference to our programme and what we are able to deliver to our audiences of all ages.
