Architects Laurence Lord and Jeffrey Bolhuis of AP+E, and Education Officer, Siobhan Pierce of the National Museum of Ireland, will discuss the Wonder Cabinet project at the Museum of Natural History. Conceived by AP+E, the Wonder Cabinet was commissioned by the Education and Outreach Department of the Museum to create a learning space within the open gallery of the historic 19th century Natural History Museum. They will discuss the challenges of designing this space which is both an interactive exhibit with existing and newly commissioned specimens, and an event space, and how the designs were created and crafted within the gallery.

Open House Dublin is presented by the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF): a non-profit arts organisation dedicated to the promotion of architecture as culture. Open House Dublin is just one part of a dynamic programme of activity through which we encourage people to engage with their built environment, to encourage new ways of thinking about architecture.
But we can’t do this alone – our supporters make a huge difference to our programme and what we are able to deliver to our audiences of all ages.
