This tour, beginning in the shadow of UCD Belfield’s Water Tower, will follow the path of the original brave-new-world vision for a national university campus for Ireland, from 1964 to the end of the 1980s. Taking in spaces and thresholds of the Science blocks, the Arts/Newman Building, the James Joyce Library, the Tierney or Administrative building, along the way, the tour will follow Polish architect (Andrej Wejchert)’s spine or walkway. It will look at the lakes and finish at the award-winning Restaurant building by Robin Walker.

The tour will take approximately 1.5 hours.

The tour guide will be Dr Ellen Rowley of UCD School of Architecture, Planning + Environmental Policy.

Meeting point is Outside Main Entrance to UCD Sports Centre
First come, first served with a maximum of 15 people

Accessibility Information
The tour will be accessible with ramps and lift access when stairs are to be used.
